At Suki La, we're constantly challenging ourselves to improve regarding our sustainability initiatives. We have made a conscious effort to ensure our packaging is either 100% recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, or re-usable.

The majority of our products are produced with Cellulose Acetate (CA), an eco-friendlier, and more durable alternative to traditional plastics. CA is a synthetic fibre developed from plant derivatives such as wood pulp and cotton fibres. Unlike most typical synthetic plastics, those made with cellulose acetate break down after use into cellulose and acetic acid by the action of water in the natural environment. These materials eventually return to the environment with no adverse impact. What's more, water and microorganisms eventually decompose the cellulose into carbon dioxide and water that can be used to nourish plants once again.

Due to our stringent quality assurance process, some products don't make it to the end consumer; this is often due to cosmetic defects or low functionality. We're happy to donate all pieces that don't pass our quality tests (each individual piece is tested before selling) to local Organisations or projects in need.
